Physical Description Shrubby, multi-trunked, or single-trunked small tree. Palmate leaves are aromatic, green above and grayish- white below. Showy, 12" flower spikes normally blue to lavender but also may be white or pink. Small, hard, round seeds resemble peppercorns.
Care and Maintenance Brittle wood. Suckers. Litters with seeds that may be hazardous on walkways. Seedlings invasive in irrigated settings. Fragrant foliage offensive to some.
